Use the correct protective clothing and equipment
We take learners through the introduction, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Injuries and problems.
Implementing and complying with the relevant procedures
This module deals with safety signs and symbols, housekeeping, faulty equipment and conditions, cleanliness, support services and how to manage health emergencies including dealing with an accident scene, artificial respiration (AR), shock, severe bleeding and loss of consciousness.
Implementing selected mechanisms for the minimising of risks
In this module we learn about the environment, risks, reduction of the likelihood of accidents/incidents and the preparation of an accident/incident report.
Assessment methods
We conduct a formative theoretical assessment at the beginning of the course to gauge the learner’s initial understanding (novices only). At the end of the training, a summative theoretical and practical application assessment is conducted, to find if the learner is competent; if not, additional developmental areas are identified and suggested.
