The purpose of this International Standard is to provide organizations with a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions in balance with socio-economic needs. It specifies requirements that enable an organization to achieve the intended outcomes it sets for its environmental management system (SHE). This training course is tailored for Internal SHE auditors.

Course objective

This training course is for auditors or potential auditors who require to understand the principles and practices of auditing their organisations environmental management system and/or their suppliers in line with ISO 14001:2015. Information is also presented about certification audits as detailed in ISO 17021.

Course outcome

The intention is to ensure that potential auditors are aware of good current practices and to provide constructive development of auditing skills through analysis and self-evaluation. This will enable them to conduct a value-added Internal audit based on the ISO 14001:2015 principles. The above is achieved by presentations by qualified and experienced facilitators and group discussions/workshops.

HRETD certification policy

Certificates of competence are issued without delay for qualifying candidates and the results entered in the National Learner Database (NLRD) in accordance with Services Education and Training Authority (SSETA) policy and procedure and is subject to quarterly moderations by the institution. Thereafter a statement of results can be obtained via the NLRD. At this time the NQF credits are also allocated for further study recognition of prior learning (RPL) purposes.
