CATEGORY: BASIC RIGGING
UNIT STANDARD: Not unit standard-aligned
DESCRIPTION: The objective of the Basic Rigging course is to provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary for the identification of defects associated with lifting tackle. Learners found competent at the end of the course will be able to perform safe rigging and slinging operations, in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Approved by the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA), the course is designed to provide the learner with awareness, knowledge and the necessary skills to arrest falls from height with the proper use of fall protection products, this course includes visual presentations to ensure safety on the job site.
